DIY Tassel Garland

Haven’t you been seeing these cute tassel garlands all over Pinterest for like ever now? I thought I would take a stab at making my own.  I like the idea of hanging one over my bar cart when having a few people over for cocktails.  It’s pretty simple but does take a lot of time.  So if you would prefer to buy one I found some cute ones over at Oriental Trading.  But maybe you want a certain color palette and want to create your own, here is a little tutorial to create your own.

What you’ll need:

Tissue paper, scissors, string and glue gun.

Step 1. Layout a folded sheet of tissue paper.

Step 2. Cut strips on each side of the paper leaving about a 3 inches in the middle.

Step 3. Fold the 3 inches in the middle till it becomes one strip.

Step 4. Twist that strip and make a loop.

Step 5. With the glue gun put a small glob to secure the loop.

Step 6. String the tassel and glue to secure it to the string.
